| Pink Godzilla! And Job! | Life | 2006-06-21 11:05:00 | By: Anotherfluke |   | Pink Godzilla's new website is live!
If you haven't heard, I designed (and continue to design) the new Pink Godzilla website. I didn't do the graphics mind you, but rather the actual coding. I also did their online store, which is scheduled to go live on July 1st.
http://www.pinkgodzillagames.com
Please check out the site and give me some feedback!
Also, I started my new job this week. It's downtown, and I think my favorite thing about this job is the view. It's on the 53rd floor, and my office has a window:
Here's the office. I share it with my supervisor, but he leaves for the day at 10am.
The view directly behind my computer. Hi Kim!
There's Mercer island and Bellevue. Hi Tina!

| | Loooong overdue post | Life | 2006-04-18 10:02:35 | By: Anotherfluke |   | Not much to say, really. I didn't really feel like typing out 3,000 words, so I'll let the pictures do the talking:
My new favorite thing:) It's really awesome, and yes I know it's just a big box. Boxy but good (bonus points if you know where that line is from)
Picked this up for Tina as an easter present along with a nice little phone strap, a DS game holder, a nice leather case, and Brain Age. I think she liked it :)
Brain Age is pretty awesome, by the way, I was pretty impressed with the Sudoku mini game they included, since it allows you to "mark up" the squares with potential numbers, which is a pretty critical thing to include, kudos Nintendo. And at 20 bucks, how can you go wrong? | |   | | View Comments |   | Post A Comment
| | Being sick sucks | Life | 2005-11-05 12:31:59 | By: Anotherfluke |   | I am officially sick.
I slept for almost 11 hours last night, and my stupid nose won't give me a moment's rest. So in retaliation I've planned a list of low-key, low-energy plans this weekend, including the super-exciting activities of:
Cleaning out my ToDo list in Outlook!
Cleaning out my Mailbox in Outlook!
Transcribing Notes for Sakuracon!
Changing the water in my fish Tank!
Laundry!
Playing God of War!
Eating chewable Vitamin C tablets!
Playing Metal Gear Solid 3!
and many more! Take that, cold! I'la and Kelcey are moving into I'la's new place today, and I wish I could help them, but I don't want to get more sick or get them sick. Good luck in your new place Ira! | |   | | View Comments |   | Post A Comment

| | Podcast Returns! | Life | 2005-08-29 12:31:43 | By: Anotherfluke |   | If you haven't been listening to my podcasts, this would be a good one to start with. I finally have the levels set so that you won't get blasted when it switches from my voice to a song, I finally have completely eliminated the high pitched whine that accompanied some of my podcasts, I have all but removed the overbearing popping and hissing, and I have some AWESOME music for you today. If you like KEXP, you should like today's music.

| | CGE! | Life | 2005-08-24 10:29:26 | By: Anotherfluke |   | Kind of a weird podcast, I was feeling really out-of-it yesterday. Some good stuff in there though, especially the songs :) Also, am trying new hardware. I'm back to the USB mic, but I still don't like the extreme sensitivity to blowing and 'P' words, so I might try the regular mic again.

| | Swing Thursday! | Life | 2005-08-18 03:45:03 | By: Anotherfluke |   | I am getting really frustrated by that stupid high-pitched tone that appears throughout my podcasts. I do my best to get rid of it, but it seems to change frequency so I can just eliminate it in one shot. GRRR! That aside, I accidentally lowered the mic volume after the 2nd song, so watch out, the songs might startle you.

I am having issues with Noise (Not the fan) and this microphone that is making the post-processing a pain (I have to go through and listen for a high-pitched whine and then remove it). I might try the USB mic again...

| | Trapped In A Podcast part 5 | Life | 2005-08-16 02:09:05 | By: Anotherfluke |   | Today's music sounds fine, but the talking sounds a little processed because I had a fan running the whole time. You can't hear it in the podcast, but you can tell I had to do some noise removal. I'm leaving on Friday so probably no podcast that day, and same for Monday. Also, I learn today that the version of Trapped In The Closet that I have is censored! Check out the awesome "doot!" sound they use ^_^

| | New podcast is up | Life | 2005-08-04 03:28:19 | By: Anotherfluke |   | Show notes again. This one is a whopping 30 minutes long, with 4 songs. It took me almost two hours, I really need to cut down on that time, and with time I think it will begin to take no more than 45 minutes to an hour for a 1/2 hour show. Definitely worth a listen tho, I think I am getting better each time. Of course feedback is always appreciated. I also take requests :)

| | Long time no type | Life | 2005-07-21 04:32:30 | By: Anotherfluke |   | It's been well over a month since I last said anything on my site. A lot has happened in that month. I went to California for Anime Expo, which was pretty awesome. I am still not working, hopefully that will be remedied soon. I'm still planning on going to Hawaii, that hasn't changed yet. Let's see, what else is going on... I'm still working on Northwest Retro which is going pretty well. I don't really have a lot to say right now, except that I am very restless, and am anxious to be more stable. Wish me luck. | |   | | View Comments |   | Post A Comment | |
| | BLOOD and GUTS | Life | 2005-06-15 12:10:47 | By: Anotherfluke |   | Been really busy the last week or so, so I thought I'd let everyone know what's going on in my life at the moment. First of all, happy birthday to Kate, whom I hope enjoyed her mojitos last night without getting into too much trouble ^_^.
First up, I have two new fish! One is a silver molly, and the other is a... um... sunset platy, I think? It's orange and yellow. I moved the murderous White Cloud Mountain Minnows to the flower vase, where they are living happily, and gave the 2 gallon tank (that I'la gave me) to the molly and platy. They're very energetic and responsive, so I enjoy feeding and watching them.
Aside from the fish, I am still enthusiastically working on Northwest Retro, which you can still sign up for at www.nwretro.org. I have at least 5 people confirmed for the June 25th meet, so anyone interested in classic games is welcome to join in. I think we have a space for NWCGE expo next year as well, and you'll all hear about that soon enough.
Third order of business is health. I'm doing fine health-wise; the news is that I am finally seeing doctors again for checkups. I don't have health insurance yet; I am using Public Health, a great non-profit group dedicated to giving everyone health care. It turns out I have borderline high blood pressure, so I've got some medication for a temporary fix while I try to lose some weight and cut down on sugars and fats. I'm also in the process of seeing if I can get into a sleep study for my apnea, which would be a grand, wonderful thing. Wish me luck with that!
Finally, I am still unemployed. I have had lots of interested parties contact me based on my work history. I now feel really stupid for staying in my old mail room position for as long as I did. It really does hurt to think about what else I could have been doing all this time. Alas. On the positive side I have been getting a lot of positive feedback from potential employers, and the wheels are grinding in the background at several locations, so I think I will be unemployed for only a short while longer.
Despite the financial difficulty with being unemployed, I certainly am having no trouble finding things to fill the time. I am very happy to have all this extra time to work on my personal projects, as well as relax a little before the next phase of my life. Alright, time to get back to work.

| | How's Up? | Life | 2005-06-05 09:36:22 | By: Anotherfluke |   | Hey Everybody! I haven't been very active for the last week or so, which is kind of weird considering I'm not working right now (contract at T-Mobile completed last Friday), but I've actually been very busy since I stopped working.
I'd say the main eater of my time is NWRetro. What's NWRetro you ask? Well, it's a group I put together to help focus the energies of local video game collectors and gamers to help them find out about events in the Pacific Northwest that might interest them. The big one of course is NWCGE (Northwest Classic Gaming Enthusiasts) Expo, of which I am now a small part (I think). We're getting ready to put on a show for spring of next year, and getting that off the ground has taken up a lot of my time and attention. Speaking of which, if anyone is interested in joining the mailing list, or looking at the website I put together, you can do so at www.nwretro.org.
Um let's see what else is going on... I have a 'new' fish tank to replace my tiny freshwater tank that has me excited, but I'm looking for a place/platform for it. I have a job interview on Monday with BD&A, the company that makes promotional and marketing products branded with company logos. Wish me luck on that! Also, Things are moving ahead pretty steadily with Sakura-Con, so I'm really looking forward to this year! ^_^
If I think of anything else, I'll let you all know.
